RED RICE
FOUR SERVINGS:
- 2 CUPS OF RICE
- 2 TBSP OF OIL (VEGETABLE OR OLIVE)
- 1 CLOVE OF GARLIC (CUT INTO 2 PIECES)
- ¼ WHITE ONION
- 1 TBSP OF POWDERED CHICKEN BROTH
- 3 GoodFarms™ ROMA OR ROUND TOMATOES
- 4 CUPS OF CHICKEN SOUP OR WATER
1. PUT THE OIL IN A POT AND PLACE IT ON A STOVE. SWITCH TO A LOW HEAT SETTING AND ADD THE RICE, GARLIC, AND ONION, THEN SAUTÉ UNTIL THE RICE APPEARS TAN.
2. ADD THE POWDERED CHICKEN BROTH.
3. MIX THE TOMATOES IN A BLENDER, AND THEN ADD THE MIX TO THE RICE.
4. ADD THE CHICKEN SOUP OR THE WATER TO THE POT, SWITCH TO A HIGH HEAT SETTING, AND STIR.
5. ONCE THE RICE IS BOILING, SWITCH THE HEAT SETTING TO LOW, THEN COVER THE POT AND KEEP IT THAT WAY FOR 18 MINUTES (BE SURE NOT TO OPEN IT DURING THAT TIME).
6. REMOVE THE POT FROM THE STOVE, THEN REMOVE THE COVER.
